Bringing in the new year with a party is so much fun. Continue the enjoyment for your guests with New Year's favors that they will use long after the celebration is over. Here are three ideas:
1. Personalized Glassware: There are lots of options when ordering custom glassware including champagne glasses with a variety of stems, wine glasses with or without stems, trinket and candle holders, and shot glasses. Include your personalized message for a lasting gift.

You can also decorate plain glassware with rub-on decals. Sold in craft stores, they are designed to be applied to glass. Application is very simple, just rub the decorations onto the glass using a craft or Popsicle stick. Acrylic paint is another choice. Be sure to ask a craft store clerk to help you find paint specifically designed for glassware.
Plain glasses are sold online, but you can eliminate your shipping costs by purchasing them locally. My favorite source for plain, inexpensive glassware is Ikea. They currently sell six glass champagne flutes for .99 and wine glasses for .99 each.
2. New Years Cookies: Making cookies is an easy, low-cost way to give your guests delicious favors. Start with a good sugar cookie recipe. The Food Network has a variety of good ones, as does Allrecipes.com. Purchase some New Year's theme shaped cookie cutters like stars and champagne glasses.
3. Calendars: Everyone can use an extra calendar, whether it is for their home or office. Mini desk or wall calendars are very handy and can be personalized. Some cost as little as a dollar. A practical gift, your guests will think of your new year's party all year long.
